Lagos Banker Sacked After This Man Reportedly Stole Huge Money From A Bank (Photos)

The hunt for an alleged thief who invaded an Access Bank branch in the financial hub of Nigeria is currently gaining momentum with his picture going viral. A Twitter user identified as Adebanjo Adebayo has raised an alarm concerning this man pictured above who he claims made away with some cash at a bank in Lagos. When contacted, Mr. Adebayo revealed that the alleged thief stole N1.2 million from Access bank located in Ejigbo area of Lagos last month. He also revealed that the theft cost his brother his job as he was sacked by the bank recently for the missing money. The alleged thief was tracked after a CCTV footage from the bank was reviewed. Adebayo urged members of the public to be vigilant as relating to the alleged thief and pled with anyone with useful information that would lead to the arrest of the suspect to contact the appropriate authorities.

The acting High Commissioner, Amb. Bobby Moroe in a chat with Punchng this morning confirmed that he had directed the Mission to suspend all consular activities until the situation improved. He explained that the reported attacks on South Africans in parts of the country informed the decision to close down the Mission. Moroe stated, “I directed that the Mission should be closed until the situation improves. We heard that South Africans were being pulled out of vehicles and attacked. We feel unsafe and that is why I directed that the mission should close down until further notice.” When told that the police had beefed up security to prevent retaliatory attacks, the envoy said the Mission would remain closed because he did not want to take chances.

EFCC Raids Ambode’s Epe Home

Operatives of the Economic and Financial Crimes Commission, EFCC on Tuesday morning raided the Epe, Lagos residence of former Governor Akinwunmi Ambode. EFCC spokesman Tony Orilade who confirmed the raid said the search of the house was part of an ongoing investigation of corruption allegations levelled against the former governor of the state. Mr. Ambode according to sources was not in the residence as at the time of the raid. Besides his residence, that of his former chief of staff was also raided GreenWhiteGreen learnt. The EFCC had recently frozen bank accounts belonging to the state in which an estimated N9 billion it claimed were laundered as part of the investigations against the former Lagos State governor. His fortunes were also not helped by the snub he was given after he was not named in the ministerial list despite his assertions of loyalty to the ruling All Progressives Congress, APC after he was overwhelmed in the party primaries.
